The rotational movement of the animals is secured by the swivels. The other movements are made possible by the leads with or without tethers. The tethers are used to protect the hypodermic tubes and the electrical leads. The swivels can be fixed either to frames or cages. The number and size of the lines, either fluid or electrical, can vary based on the experimental needs.
The swivels are manufactured from stainless steel, Turcite, which is a Teflon based material, and Teflon.
